TGO joins with CMU to hold a seminar to disseminate success results. Low-carbon industrial development project in the Eastern Special Development Zone based on the concept of circular economy

Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) (TGO or TGO) together with Chiang Mai University by the Institute of Science and Technology Research and the Environmental Energy Technology Research Center (ETE) accelerating the expansion of the results of the development of low-carbon industrial prototypes in the circular economy in the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) area, aiming to become a low-carbon economy and society that is friendly to the environment.

On September 14, 2022, TGO together with CMU organized a seminar to publicize the results of the low-carbon industrial development project in the Eastern Special Development Zone based on the circular economy concept at Napalai C Meeting Room, Dusit Thani Pattaya Hotel, Chonburi Province By being honored by Mr. Kiatchai Maitriwong, Director of the Management Organization

The traditional driving force of the country’s economy follows a linear economy system in which a large amount of resources are used for the production of goods and services. forwarded to consumers for use and discarded as garbage after use. (take-make-use-dispose) without recycling results in increased greenhouse gas emissions. It also causes environmental problems and shortages of natural resources. Especially the garbage/waste problem. that has increased The concept of circular economy is currently of interest to the public and private sectors. can come and help solve such problems. Including benefits to the economy, environment and society as a whole. This is because the circular economy focuses on using leftover raw materials and by-products. (or waste) from the production process can be recycled or reused according to its condition. To achieve maximum utilization of resources

TGO recognizes the benefits of this circular economy concept. Therefore, it is proposed to create a project to develop low-carbon industries in the Eastern Economic Corridor area based on the concept of circular economy in fiscal year 2022, with a total of 8 prototype industrial factories in the circular economy that will receive honorary plaques, including:

  1. Jetecto (Thailand) Company Limited
  2. Danili Company Limited
  3. TPN Flexpack Company Limited
  4. Map Ta Phut Olefins Company Limited
  5. Stanby Asia Company Limited
  6. Asia Silicones Monomer Company Limited
  7. N.D. Rubber Public Company Limited
  8. NS-Siam United Steel Company Limited

From operations following the circular economy concept of 8 pilot industrial organizations, it was found that the amount of greenhouse gas emissions (Scope 1 and Scope 2) was 2.3 million tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per year. which has the potential to reduce greenhouse gases from operating according to the circular economy concept at an amount equal to 111,400 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent per year. or equivalent to 5 percent of the amount of greenhouse gas emissions that occur
