Chiang Mai University has joined in supporting Chiang Mai Province in the implementation of the Quick Win 3 action plan. The three main focus areas of this plan include:

  1. Managing the flow of natural water into the Mae Kha Canal.
  2. Studying and designing a wastewater treatment and collection system.
  3. Improving the condition of the canal and the surrounding landscape, as well as managing the residential areas along the waterway.

Chiang Mai Province has been following the Mae Kha Canal Master Plan and has developed a timeline to guide and monitor the ongoing activities effectively, ensuring continuity and efficiency in their efforts.

Regarding the progress tracking and sustainable development of the Mae Kha Canal, these initiatives are led by Chiang Mai University’s Center for Water Resources Management and Research. They are actively involved in driving the implementation of Chiang Mai University’s 13th Development Plan (2023 – 2027), which includes strategic objectives related to promoting Chiang Mai University’s path to becoming a Carbon Neutral University.
