ERDI-CMU collaborates to analyze provincial-level greenhouse gas data, supporting TGO in achieving its low-carbon city goal.

The Energy Research and Development Institute of Chiang Mai University (ERDI-CMU), in collaboration with the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO), analyzed and verified greenhouse gas inventory data and greenhouse gas reduction plans for all 76 provinces nationwide. This supports the development of context-aware greenhouse gas reduction measures and provides crucial information for the long-term development of low-carbon cities and societies.

On this occasion, ERDI-CMU reviewed, verified, analyzed, and presented data on greenhouse gas emissions and removals at the provincial level, comparing this data with the national level. This aims to create a vital database for planning towards a low-carbon society and achieving Thailand’s Net Zero target. The results of this work were presented at an expert meeting for feedback and suggestions on the review and verification of provincial greenhouse gas inventory and reduction plans, under the project to prepare a summary report on the analysis of data according to provincial greenhouse gas reduction plans, organized by TGO on October 31, 2025, at the TK Palace & Convention Hotel, Bangkok.
