Chiang Mai University’s Hariphunchai Research Center in Lamphun Province is advancing research and development to tangibly assess carbon sinks and offsets from forests and green spaces.

📌 Outstanding Results
• Assessed carbon sequestration in trees, soil, and plant debris, reaching 80,252 tons of carbon dioxide equivalent.
• Chiang Mai University offsets 7,222 tons of carbon per year.
• Produced over 6,900 saplings of more than 20 species for forest conservation and restoration.
• Developed innovative geospatial technology for accurate carbon sequestration analysis.

• Supports Chiang Mai University’s carbon reduction plan towards carbon neutrality.
• Serves as a model for collaborative work across multiple faculties, leveraging modern technology and comprehensive data collection.
